Dog Pound Rules
As of 8/18/2015, these are the up-to-date rules of Dog Pound, agreed upon by all guests who enter the dream.
In General...
1. The harassment of anyone, patron or staff, is strictly prohibited.
- Dog Pound has a Zero-Tolerance policy in regards to harassment of any kind (verbal, sexual, or otherwise). If you are (or feel you are) being harassed, report the offending party, with logs, to any available staff member. You can also report harassment on the forums.
- Please note: Dog Pound CANNOT punish people who harass through whispers. Whispers are PRIVATE conversations, and are therefore beyond the control of the dream staff. If you're being harassed through whispers, contact a Guardian on the Beekin Channel.
- Sharing whisper logs without permission from the other party is strictly prohibited according to Furcadia's User Agreement.
2. Racist/sexist/transphobic/homophobic/etc remarks of ANY kind are NOT tolerated.
- Dog Pound does not discriminate against any one race, creed, sexuality, gender or gender identity. Any remark belittling or demeaning anyone due to one or more of these issues will be jailed immediately without warning.
3. Do not idle in doorways, pathways, or other high traffic areas.
- All pathways and doors should be kept clear of clutter, both players and items. Groups of friends are allowed to lie together, so long as they're not blocking the way. If players have to make an extended trip to get around your group, you will be asked to move.
4. Dog Pound is a T+ Rated Dream, in accordance with Furcadia's rating system and User Agreement.
- Dog Pound, being located in Allegria Island, is going to receive visitors of all age brackets. Sexual language of any kind is not tolerated in public chat. Any conversations of an explicit or adult nature should be kept to whispers or private chats. These rules apply to any and all languages.
- Swearing is allowed but only in moderation. Excessive swearing will result in a warning from staff.
- Players with offensive names or descriptions will be asked to remove themselves/change their description from the dream, or face jailing or ejecting.
- As such, adult or NSFW images are not allowed in descriptions whilst in the dream.
5. Do not spam, flood, or advertise.
- Dog Pound prohibits the advertisement of other dreams, alt threads, or sales of any kind. Links of these nature are allowed in a description, but not if the sole purpose is for advertisement. I.E.: a player may have a link to their alt selling thread in their description, but not a description that deliberately says "please buy these alts."
- Spamming is the excessive repetition of words, phrases, or links. Spamming can result in immediate jailing or ejection, no questions asked.
- Flooding is breaking up sentences to force the chat to move. I.E.: Entering one word into the chat box at a time.
6. Cheating is NOT allowed.
- This includes but is not limited to: summoning other players into the game area, leading other players behind doors or gates, etc.
- If you are found to be cheating in the games, you will be banished without warning.
7. No conga lines through the dream.
- A "conga line" is a follow chain over 3 people long. If more than 3 people are in a following line, you will be asked to break it up. Conga lines can cause issues and lag for players with poor connections, and clutters the screen in general.
In Regards to Staff...
1. Dog Pound staff members act as enforcers of the rules, and are not to be argued with.
- If you're arguing with a staff member over a warning or punishment, logs will be given directly to Blast, Brigade, Navy, or any available manager.
- Do not argue with Dream Owners or Managers in regards to punishments.
2. Abuse of staff power is NOT tolerated.
- If you witness, or are the target of, a staff's abuse of power, report it to a Manager or Dream Owner immediately. Action will be taken immediately. Abuse of power can also be reported on the forums.
3. Impersonation of staff will result in immediate ejection.
- This includes but is not limited to: acting, or claiming to be, a staff member when you're not, threatening to eject/jail/banish someone, or having "Staff at DP" in your description.
- Repeat offenses will result in banishment.
4. The first jailing lasts for five minutes.
- Do NOT ask your friends/use alts to ask for someone to be released. This will result in their jailing as well.
- Each additional whisper you send to a staff member after being jailed will add an additional minute to your time.
While Roleplaying...
1. No auto-hitting, god-modding, powerplaying, or senseless slaughter.
- Auto-hitting is attacking another character in a way that doesn't allow them to retaliate. Saying your character bit down on the other's shoulder without leaving room for a dodge is an auto-hit.
- God-modding, also sometimes referred to as powerplaying, is controlling another character that isn't your own during a roleplay. Saying that your partner's character did/thought/said something without their consent counts and isn't allowed
2. Use the 1 Attack, 3 Dodge rule when roleplaying a fight.
- It can also be the 1 Attack, 2 Dodge rule. Either works.
- Good fighting etiquette would see a fighting post consist of: 1 attempted attack, an attempted counter-attack should the first fail, and a dodge if an attack was made the previous turn.
- You're allowed to use all dodges in one post, but you MUST take the next hit, regardless of how bad it may be. Each hit you take resets the count.
3. Always check the level of consent. Ask, don't assume.
- Though not always apparent, there are three levels of consent in roleplay.
- Full Consent, or FC, is a character who you must ask permission before doing something. Hurting, touching, fighting, etc. must all be agreed upon beforehand.
- Semi-consent, or SC, is a character who is open to anything with exceptions usually regarding harm, mutilation, or death. This varies depending on the player.
- No Consent, or NC, is a character who is free to have anything done to them without provocation. In general, however, severe mutilation and death require permission.
4. A character dead ICly is not dead OOCly.
- Do not ask staff to ban a dead character. Do not attempt to strong-arm someone into not using that alt. So long as the dead character remains dead IC, it's fine.
Adhering to these rules will ensure everyone has a good time in Dog Pound, and ensures you'll have no issues with the staff!
